Dundalk as it Happens
New bar and museum planned for Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park
Dundalk FC are about to start work on refurbishing the bar of the Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park with a museum also set to be established at the club.
Owners Paul Brown and Andy Connolly revealed the news in an interview with the club website today.
The Jim Reilly Bar at the YDC has been closed for a number of years but it is hoped it will be reopened before the end of the current season in October.
It is hoped the new bar will include a museum detailing the history of the club.
Andy Connolly told DundalkFC.com: “We are about to start work on the refurbishment of the bar area in the YDC. We are hoping to have it re-opened before the end of the season.
“It will be open to supporters on match days and will provide a great venue for people to meet in the week. We are also planning to establish a Dundalk FC ‘museum’ in the bar where we can display much of the memorabilia from the club’s rich history.”
Andy and Paul also spoke about their time in charge and their hopes for Europe.
