One of Dundalk’s most iconic bars to go under the hammer next month

One of Dundalk’s most iconic pubs is set to be sold at auction next month.

Brian McEntegart’s at 100 Park Street will go under the hammer on Tuesday September 27th at 2.30pm in the Crowne Plaza Hotel unless previously sold.

Best known locally as ‘The Vinegar Man’s’, the pub has been in the McEntegart family since 1923.

For most of that period it was run by Brian McEntegart bar a brief period in 2014 when he leased it out.

Since Brian’s passing in May last year, the pub has remain closed but now it is set to be sold on after being placed on the market in recent days by local estate agents Property Partners Laurence Gunne.

The property comprises a ground floor bar over cellar basement, together with substantial living accommodation, a yard, stores and out-offices. There is also rear access from Park Street via double gate.

The pub also retains its seven day trading license although much of its contents were sold off at auction last October.

It is understood the asking price is around the €350,000 mark but this is expected to rise as interest grows in one of Dundalk’s best loved pubs..
