PA system will return for next month’s Blessing of the Graves in Dowdallshill
The public address system will be back in use at this year’s Blessing of the Graves ceremony in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
Last year Louth County Council came in for severe criticism after the annual patrun event in Dowdallshill was broadcast via Dundalk FM rather than via loudspeaker has had been common practice in previous years.
It was confirmed recently that the PA would be returning for this year’s Blessing of the Graves, which are scheduled to take place on Sunday July 15th. While the local authority will not be providing the system they have vowed to make a financial contribution towards it being hired.
The gates of the cemetery will also be left open later in the coming weeks to facilitate people who wish to spruce up graves ahead of the patrun.
