The Health Service Executive (Louth Disability Services) have been granted an extension to their planning permission, previously granted in 2008, to build a children’s gymnasium in the area.

The children’s gym, which is proposed for Mounthamilton House, Railway Terrace, Carrickmacross Road, would include office facilities for physiotherapy assessment and therapy services use and would adjoin the existing sensory room building.

The application also allows for the construction of a single storey extension for conference office use at the rear of Mounthamilton House.

Mounthamilton House is a facility for helping children with special needs and is located along the railway track leading north from Clarke Station.
