Plans for massive revamp of Point Road shop
Plans have been drawn up for a massive revamp of the XL shop on the Point Road in Dundalk.
Michael and Martina Dillon have applied to Louth County Council for planning permission to demolish the existing retail unit and overhead accommodation, as well as an adjoining derelect dwelling house and outbuildings at 64-66 Point Road.
In its place they are seeking permission to construct a three storey building (12.63m high) comprising of a retail unit with ancillary office and store at ground floor level and three two bedroom two storey apartments with roof top gardens on the northern end of the site. There would also be two one bed single storey apartments contained in one block located to the southern end of the site.
Permission is also sought for a bin storage area, car parking and associated site development works.
A decision on the matter is due by August 8th.
