Plans for new hotel at Dundalk Racecourse could still happen

Plans for a new hotel at Dundalk Racecourse could still happen.

That’s because Dundalk Racecourse Developments Ltd have applied to Louth County Council to extend their planning permission for the 166 bedroom 4 star hotel, which was first given the go ahead 10 years ago and had already had its permission extended in 2012.

The company hope to build the hotel on a six acre site on the grounds of Dundalk Stadium.

It would consist of 78 bedrooms and 88 suites all with en-suites, two bars, restaurant and kitchens, a conference centre, leisure centre with swimming pool and parking.

A decision on whether the council will permit the application to be extended will be made on November 1st.

Current permission to build the hotel expires on September 26th.
