Recruitment for the various roles at the new SuperValu premises at The Fairways Hotel is now open.

Talk of the Town exclusively revealed on Monday morning that the new €7 million supermarket was due to open this autumn.

Work on the new SuperValu has been ongoing since December but an opening date was revealed when hoarding was erected around the site at the weekend. It included an email address where those interested in working there were encouraged to send their CVs.

Unfortunately this domain was never registered meaning those who sent emails to it saw them bounce back.

Talk of the Town has been in contact with Richard Tiernan, who will operate the store, and he has confirmed that a new email address to apply for jobs has now been activated, with the hoarding also updated accordingly.

Those interested in the various roles up for grabs can send their CV to the new email address fairways@supervalu.ie

It is understood that the following positions are available:

  • Store Assistants
  • Floor Assistants
  • Delivery Drivers
  • Deli Assistants
  • Cleaners
  • Supervisors

There will be an estimated 40 jobs created when the new SuperValu opens its doors later this year. It will include a butcher counter, fish counter and fresh bakery with in-store experts, as well as ample customer parking. According to the retailer, customers will receive “a tailored local Irish offer, with a range of locally-sourced produce from Louth suppliers including Moran Jams, Kookie Dough and Sing Li to name but a few”.

Yesterday Talk of the Town revealed that three further retail units and a coffee shop had been approved for the site, which will also include a revamped Fairways Hotel and a number of residential units.
