Sign-up day for Oran’s Foundation’s Five Mile Run in Tesco Dundalk this Sunday
Oran’s Foundation will host their annual five mile run in Stabannon next month with a sign up day taking place in Tesco Extra in Dundalk this Sunday from 12-4pm.
Oran’s Foundation was set up for Oran Neacy. From Stabannon but currently living in Ardee with his mother Emma, Oran was born in 2011 with multiple disabilities.
Due to his complicated medical requirements, Oran is schooled in Dublin and must undergo a huge number of hospital appointments. The first five mile race for him was run in June 2015 with the aim of fundraising to buy a modified vehicle to enable the then four-year-old to be transported around with ease.
This year’s race will take place on Sunday June 11th at 12 noon and costs €15 to enter, with runners and walkers welcome. You can sign-up in Tesco on Sunday or any time online at www.popupraces.ie
All proceeds go directly to Oran’s Foundation with this year’s money set to be used to purchase hoist equipment for Oran’s home. Later this year a donation will also be made by the foundation to a charity partner who assist children with profound disabilities.
All entries to the race will receive a medal at the finish line, free tea/coffee and refreshments and have a chance to win spot prizes.
There will also be children’s races and entertainment on the day with full details on Facebook at www.facebook.com/oransfoundation
