Tenders sought for major refurbishment and extension to St Joseph’s NS
Tenders are being sought from contractors for a new two-storey extension and refurbishment at St Joseph’s National School in Muirhevnamor.
The work would involve a two-storey extension to the existing building, which has 16 classrooms, a refurbishment of the existing building and the demolition of temporary accommodation on site.
The extension will comprise eight classrooms, a GP hall and ancillary accommodation with an area of 1,911sqm.
The site works comprise of extended car parking from 38 to 51 car spaces, a new set down area, new basketball courts, a new hard play area, new paths and associated landscaping, new 2.2m high perimeter fence and 2.4m perimeter railings, as well as entrance gates with the school signage.
Work to the existing school building comprises of alterations to the existing GP hall to accommodate six Special Educational Tutorial rooms and revised windows and other internal divisions not affecting existing elevations.
Refurbishment also includes the replacement of roof slates and extensive internal refurbishment to the existing school.
