Three local arts and culture centres are set to benefit from over €43,000 in funding.
An Táin Arts Centre at the Town Hall in Dundalk, Oriel Cultural Centre CCE at Dundalk Gaol and Carlingford Heritage Centre have all been allocated funds as part of the €750,000 given out nationally as part of the Arts and Culture Capital Scheme 2016-2018.
Carlingford Heritage Centre is the biggest beneficiary as it will receive the maximum grant allowed of €20,000 while the Oriel Centre, the home of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, will receive €16,112.
Meanwhile, An Táin Arts Centre will receive €7,322.81, bringing the total allocated amount in Louth to €43,434.81.
The funding was welcomed by local TD Fergus O’Dowd, who said: “The grants will make a significant difference to those smaller organisations looking to develop, for example, IT projects, new lighting and sound systems in theatres and arts centres, seating, staging and storage and the improvement of digital facilities.”
