Tommy the Bikes premises for sale ahead of relocation
One of Dundalk town centre’s most established stores has been placed up for sale.
Tommy the Bikes at 11 Earl Street is for sale through local estate agents DNG Duffy for €240,000.
The business, which has been trading 36 years, is planning to relocate.
Originally set up and run by Tommy McDonnell and his wife Mary, Tommy the Bikes has been under the ownership of Declan McArdle since August 2006. Best known as a cycle shop, in recent years Tommy the Bikes has expanded into selling a range of outdoor gear for other sports including skiing and surfing.
The premises, which was best known as Mulholland’s where many children got their schoolbags prior to Tommy taking it over, has 3,667sq ft of space across the ground floor, basement, first floor and second floor.
DNG Duffy describe it as a “prime trading location on Dundalk’s only pedestrianised street.”
Earl Street has been boosted in recent weeks by the opening of the new Pamela Scott store. Other prominent retailers include Tony McDonnell Menswear, McKenna Man, Riva Brasserie and Dealz.
