Two men were arrested after being pursued by Gardaí early on Saturday morning.
The two men failed to stop for Gardaí in Castlebellingham around 6am and were chased through Mansfieldstown and Ardee before eventually being stopped at Woodtown on the N52 Ardee to Kells Road.
The 29-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drink drinking while his passenger was also arrested at the scene under the Public Order Act.
Both men were taken to Dundalk Garda Station for questioning but were later released with a file prepared for the DPP.
