irishwater-waterchargesReports have reached us that Irish Water contractors have been replacing water meters today on the Doylesfort Road, near Dowdallshill.

Water meters were originally installed on the road, located beside Arthur’s shop, a few months back but have been dug up today and replaced with new meters that according to one resident “look exactly the same.”

No notice or explanation was given to residents as to why the work was taking place but it does beg the question about why it is happening. Were the first batch faulty and, if so, were the bills issued accurate.

We await word on whether or not similar operations are required in other areas of the town.
